I called three contractors to repair the front of my roof which was old slate with falling and cracked shingles. G & G's estimate for the repair was not only competitive but included services the other two omitted. George took the time to provide me a detailed explanation of my options and in the end I opted to replace the slate with a high quality asphalt shingle. In addition G&G recoated the flat portion of my roof and sealed all areas that entered the house. The work was scheduled and completed the day after I signed the contract and I still can't get over how much better the house looks. My final recommendation - Don't do a roof repair or replacement without calling G&G first. Get several estimates, and in the end, when you compare the value and quality of workmanship, I'm sure you'll be singing there praises too.

Last Friday George Martin came when he said he would to inspect the roof. He gave me an estimate on the spot and explained to me what he saw and how he suggested it be repaired. I agreed to the work on Tuesday, and since rain was coming in over the weekend he did the work on Wednesday, the next day.
The process was easy, George told me everything he and his crew did, and the cost was excellent. Whenever I need my house roof dealt with I'll call George first.

I highly recommend G&G Home Improvements for roofing services. I have a remodeled row house in North East D.C. Most of the roof is new, but the turret is original and started to leak badly. I called several highly rated roofers and G & G was the first to get back to me and schedule an inspection/estimate. They were at the house right on time within a few days to provide an estimate and started work the very next day, (other roofers couldn't schedule an appointment for weeks). George and team were very professional. They spotted several problem areas where the turret and flashing needed repair and were back the next day to fix the problems. It's rained heavily a couple times now and I'm happy to report no problems since the repair. Price seemed reasonable and I'm very satisfied to have the work completed.

We had a terrific experience with G&G. I called at least 4 or 5 different roofers in the area and G&G was 1 of 2 that even bothered to call back. We were able to quickly schedule an estimate. George (the owner) came and performed a full inspection of our roof and went over all the details and problems we needed to have corrected. We chose G&G to do the work based on a competitive price and the promptness and courtesy of the company. We were promised that the work could be done in one day and it was done in half that time. George provided us pictures of the work they did and explained what work was performed. I highly recommend G&G to anyone looking for roofing work, especially in the Capitol Hill area. We were very pleased with the work that was done. The pricing was fair and competitive with other contractors. The company was very courteous and responsive.

I would highly recommend G & G Home Improvements. The owners of this company are truthful, courteous, and reliable. Most importantly, they took the time to inform us of the options we have to get the best quality roof possible. We have used them twice before, and compared to other companies they were the most honest in separating what absolutely needed to be done to repair the roof from unnecessary costs. In the aftermath of Huricane Irene and the subsequent tropical storm many roofers wouldn't even give callbacks. The Martin's of G&G were out to give me an estimate on my damage the following day. This time we used G & G Home Improvements for a full tear off and replacement of the lower level roof on our house. Once again they gave us a fair and reasonable price. This company also ensured that the highest quality materials are used. In fact they sent their workers back to get 5/8- inch plywood for the sheathing instead of using the standard ½-inch. Not only did they get the job done in an efficient manner, they went above and beyond to make repairs that were unexpected without charging us extra, including reinforcing a beam that was rotting and replacing an extra part of our gutter. They also took extra care in cleaning up so that no debris was left behind, including nails that could damage tires. Additionally, I enjoy supporting family run businesses. A father and son who have been working in the business for generations run G & G Home Improvements.
